Pinto Bean
Ingredients:
2 cups (500mL) pinto beans (presoaked)
5 cups (1-1/4L) water
2 small onions, chopped
1 cup (250mL) stewed tomatoes (or tomato sauce)
1/4 cup (50mL) molasses
1/4 cup (50mL) soy sauce
1 tbsp. (15mL) chili powder
Directions:
Add pintos to water, cover & simmer until the beans are tender (2 to 3 hours). Add all other ingredients & simmer until tender & tasty. Ketchup can be added for taste. Delicious served over rice.
