Nutritional Yeast Gravy (GF & Vegan)
Ingredients:
1/4 cup chickpea or brown rice flour
3 tbsp. nutritional yeast flakes
1-1/2 cups low sodium vegetable broth

1-1/2 to 2 tbsp. reduced sodium tamari or soy sauce (you may have to adjust, based on how
1 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
1/2 tsp. garlic powder black pepper, to taste
Directions:
Heat the brown rice or chickpea flour, along with the yeast flakes in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently, until fragrant. Remove from heat & whisk in the vegetable broth, tamari, olive oil, thyme & garlic powder. Return to heat & cook, whisking constantly, until the gravy is thick & bubbly. Season to taste with black pepper. Serve. Makes 1-1/2 cups.
