Berries with almond cream and amaretti

Preparation

Step 1


In a medium bowl add the berries and douse with the liqueur. Sprinkle with the 1/3 of the sugar and let the berries macerate.


Step 2


In a large bowl, add the cream, the remaining sugar and almond essence. Beat the cream with a whisk or electric beater until the cream forms stiff peaks.


Step 3


Serve the berries in dessert dishes topped with whipped cream and crushed amaretti cookies.

Ingredients


  • 2 punnets strawberries, hulled and halved

  • 60ml orange-flavored liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)

  • 45g sugar

  • 250ml double cream

  • 1 tsp. almond essence

  • 12 amaretti cookies, unwrapped and lightly crushed
