Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package pitted dates, cut in half
¾ cup very hot water
½ medium lemon
3 teaspoons agave nectar
2 teaspoons ghee (clarified butter)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Preparation
Step 1
Combine dates, hot water, lemon, agave, ghee, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small pot over medium-low heat; bring to a boil.
Step 2
Reduce heat and simmer, breaking up the dates as they cook down, until thickened to desired consistency, about 10 minutes.
