Chocolate river over drunken berries

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups strawberries, hulled, halved

  • 30ml orange liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)

  • 3/4 cup dark chocolate pieces, reserve a few shavings

  • 120ml cream

  • Pinch salt

  • Whipped cream, homemade or store-bought

  • 2 tsps orange zest

Preparation

Step 1


Soak the berries in the liqueur for 20 minutes.


Step 2


Melt the chocolate with the cream and salt over low heat until smooth and combined.


Step 3


Remove the berries to two dessert bowls with a slotted spoon. Drown the drunken berries in the chocolate river, top with mounds of whipped cream and garnish with the orange zest and chocolate shavings.
